Beast Dream Meanings

The generic beast of the dream world is expressing the more animalistic aspect of the human condition. Since a specific Earth-dwelling animal will carry with it the meaning associated with its very nature, the beast as an archetype connects with the shadow side of this—the irrational, aggressive, and instinctive elements of who we are that we disown or prefer weren’t so. Remember the fairy tale Beauty and the Beast, as these two opposing archetypes must be integrated in order to find balance and true happiness.

It is very important to honor the beast within you in order to find your own true humanity.

A beast may symbolize your own ‘animal nature’.

If so, it probably means that you take a low view of instinctive forces (‘the Beast’, after all, is a traditional name for the Devil or Antichrist). You - the conscious ego - therefore need to begin to interact creatively with your unconscious (vour body and your primal psychic energies) and give it more value and more expression in your conscious lite.

To dream about a beast represents imprudence and naivete.

To see faceless beasts relates to some circumstance that you are failing to fully realize or confront; you are basically indifferent.

The dream also could mean that some event or person is raising worry and anxiety in you.

The Bible says that a beast is a symbol of honorable men who are undiscerning.

Many dreams feature beasts or animals that are of no particular characteristic or type. In some cases the beast is terrifying and we awake with a feeling of dread. Such creatures are usually an expression of memories, or instincts and drives, which have been repressed or avoided in our waking lives for one reason or another.
